Other projects in the 1990’s include:

1998 – Conservation of the St Michael statue.

The north porch was built in the 14th century of Wolverton stone. It has a fine decorated ceiling. Outside the porch in a niche is a statue of the Patron Saint, The Archangel Michael. He is seen defeating the serpent. The Statue dates from about 1160 and faint traces of colour remain on it.
Over the Perpendicular style doorway leading into the church is a niche housing an unidentified and headless statue that was discovered in a nearby pond.

1990s

1999 – Paid £3700 towards to Nave improvements.

1998 – Nave lighting designed by Sean Lander installed by W.A. Norris Electrics of Mere £4480

1998 – Pew cushions

1995 – 97 Whiting of the nave and aisle walls and roof panels.

1993 – Renovating the church clock including the chiming mechanism

1993 – Contribution to etching the south aisle window.

1990 – Contribution to the rehanging of the church bells (image required)

1990 – Conservation and cleaning of the rood screen. £7,555 + VAT. The screen dates from the
15th century. It has areas above the coving showing traces of original colouring. The whole
screen bore colouring until 1856 when restoration was done. (Image required)
