During the 1980s the Still Chapel was decorated and refurnished. The Bettesthorne Chapel
(now the St Matthew Chapel) had windows repaired, lime washed the walls and a new stone
shelf was installed for the Piscina (a shallow basin placed near the altar used for washing the
communion vessels). The North Parvis room painted and windows repaired.
