This was the first Tower Story Event. It celebrated the completion of the restoration of the pinnacles and re-guilding of the clock. Over 300 people brought picnics and listened to the Shrewton Silver Band who started off by playing popular favourites and after a break played music associated with the Last Night of the Proms. Gates opened at 4.00pm with the concert started at 5.30pm. The Butt of Sherry had a bar and local eateries stayed open late. The event finished at 8.00pm.
It was a great success and everyone said they thoroughly enjoyed it. A ‘bucket collection’ at the gate when people left raised over £200.
