2024/25 – Restoration of the pinnacles and Tower Stories

After receiving a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, restoration work has begun on the church tower. The 124 foot high 15th-century tower has been swathed in scaffolding for the beginning of 2024, with restoration and repairs to the church’s pinnacles, pennant and church clock taking place.

The next phase will be a year long programme of community engagement. A writer and composer will make works to create commercial income from their sale in order to further support the needs of the church building and the other charitable works relating to St Michael’s.
